1550nm High Peak Power Short Pulsed Erbium Fiber Laser Module For LiDAR
The short pulsed laser source module is a high peak power pulsed laser source based on the wavelength which is safe to human eyes. Adopting master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) architecture design and optimized multi-stage optical amplification, the laser source module can achieve high peak power laser output with ns level pulse width, suitable for automotive LiDAR, remote sensing surveying radar, laser ranging applications.
The short pulsed laser source module can be provided in circular and rectangular package, featuring compact structure, small size, wide range of work temperature and ultra-low power consumption. Besides, the pulse output can also be achieved by external TTL signal, suited for system integration.
These short pulsed laser source modules are applicable to various difficult working environments, suitable for automotive LiDAR system, Laser Range Finding,3D laser scanning system, etc.
LiDAR,which stands for Light Detection and Ranging, is a remote sensing method that uses light in the form of a pulsed fiber laser to measure ranges (variable distances) to the Earth. These light pulses—combined with other data recorded by the airborne LiDAR system — generate precise, three-dimensional information about the shape of the Earth and its surface characteristics.
A LiDAR instrument principally consists of a fiber laser, a scanner, and a specialized GPS receiver. Airplanes and helicopters are the most commonly used platforms for acquiring LiDAR data over broad areas. Two types of LiDAR are topographic and bathymetric. Topographic LiDAR typically uses a near-infrared laser to map the land, while bathymetric LiDAR uses water-penetrating green light to also measure seafloor and riverbed elevations.
LiDAR systems allow scientists and mapping professionals to examine both natural and manmade environments with accuracy, precision, and flexibility. Scientists are using LiDAR to produce more accurate shoreline maps, make digital elevation models for use in geographic information systems, to assist in emergency response operations, and in many other applications.
